54. How Did You Choose Your Last Prostheses?

Did your Prosthetist choose one for you? Did he leave it to you to select the right prosthetic foot?

Did you choose a prosthetic foot that best fits your individual habits, preferences, and needs, or did you want a particular prosthesis that looks the best or is more fashionable? 

Did you honestly consider your current activity level – based on your amputation level, mobility grade, and lifestyle? Did you get one that you thought would kick you into a higher K Scale?

Did you really believe the advertisement that came with the latest foot swearing that you will be more stable and in less pain?

Did you do any research before you decided? Did your prosthesis offer any brochures that the prosthetic company offers?

Did you take a test wearing of your prosthetic top choice for a week or two? Did you try more than one prosthesis?

Looking back on your choice, do you have any regrets? What would you do differently?
