The thing with anxiety, depression, or any other mental illness, is that it doesn’t discriminate. Anyone can be affected by it. It’s finding ways to cope with it that makes you a stronger person. For me, I hated the medication that my doctors had prescribed me. They made me feel like a zombie, a shell of a person.

Amputee Life Coach

When I had my lower leg amputated five years ago, I was ready to shift my practice to focus solely on helping amputees recover quality of life and peace of mind.

Unlike most therapists of any persuasion, I work with a limited number of clients and without recurring meetings.

Why?

Because you don’t deserve to wait that long

Because panic and other emotional extremes don’t follow a set schedule

Because you need to back on your feet again ASAP

Because I found that people learning to cope with amputation can’t wait that long and that approach doesn’t work.

My services are simple and direct. I have been a support mechanism and resource for people just like you, when you need me. Simply reach out and we’ll meet any reasonable time of day as soon as I’m available.

My Clinical Psychology Career

Believe it or not, I had the perfect preparation for my amputee focus later in life. My post-doctoral work was at the VA in San Francisco with vets coming back with lost limbs and traumatic body image issues, and I focused on that population in a clinical setting until I realized a life-coaching model could be very effective.

Here’s a picture of me from those days…
